Board of Directors

Dr. Dennis O’Brien is a micro-econometrician with a remarkable track record of successfully founding, growing, transforming, and selling information companies. Over his career, Dennis founded, chaired, or acquired Data Resources Inc., Ziff-Davis ISG, BARRA, Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, Dunn and Bradstreet Technical and Economic Services, TRW ISG, McDonnell Douglas Payment Systems, TeleCheck, Electronic Data Network and InfoVest among others.

As a senior executive at some of the world’s leading information companies, Dr. O’Brien is experienced in structuring transactions involving intangible assets. He has participated in the acquisition, divestitures, or IPOs of more than four-dozen intellectual property companies. At one point in his career all of the Fortune 500 manufacturing companies were his clients—simultaneously. A more complete biography on Dr. O’Brien is attached as an appendix to this document.

 

General Kerr has served as a consultant for business products for the US Armed Forces since 2008. He previously served as the general manager for business development for Boeing’s Rotorcraft and as the marketing director for DRS Photronics.

During his military career he served as the director of human resources for the Department of The Army, director of Army Safety and commander of the Army Safety Center.Prior to that he was Deputy Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division and Commander of the 82nd Airborne Division Air Wing. General Kerr served in positions of increasing responsibility in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant through Brigade General and is a director on the board of InfoVest

Dr. Browne is an experienced CEO, business executive, entrepreneur, and economist who has built international businesses in the fields of information technology, power generation, energy technology, and energy equipment manufacturing.

Dr. Browne is President of The Stanton Group that he founded in 1986 to develop and own power plants and to promote new energy technologies around the world.

One of Stanton’s proprietary technologies generates electricity from waste heat that is recovered from gas pipelines and diesel engine power plants, and Stanton also has designed and implemented large power plants that use waste gases from steel mills.

Stanton is partnered with one of China’s leading wind turbine manufacturers to establish their business in export markets outside China, and with China’s premier provider of energy saving technology for coal power plants to market and implement their technology internationally.

Dr. Browne started his professional career at Data Resources, Inc. (DRI), the premier economic forecasting, modeling, data, software, and consulting firm, and later was CEO of a Dun & Bradstreet company that built a proprietary database of the top 100,000 manufacturing facilities in the USA, with information for each plant about its energy use, production, and employment.

Dr. Browne has a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT and an AB in Economics from The Johns Hopkins University. He is active with The Trustees of Reservations and the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. He is an equestrian, a pilot, and a jazz musician.

 

Fred Sears has had a distinguished 38-year career in banking and now serves as the president and CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation. Fred most recently served as the president of Commerce Bank. Fred has also worked in the public sector as Finance Director and Director of Commerce for the City of Wilmington and Director for the Port of Wilmington. Fred has been a member of the Board of Directors of more than 40 organizations and currently serves on the Commerce Advisory Council and advisor to TD Bank.

Fred has been honored by several organizations for his business and community leadership and is a respected core member of the Delaware business and non-profit community. Fred is a director on the board of InvoVest.

 

Porter Schutt is the Managing Partner of Brown Advisory’s Wilmington, DE office. He joins Brown Advisory after 13 years at Marvin & Palmer Associates, Inc., a global equity management firm, where he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager for emerging markets and domestic large-cap growth equity portfolios. Prior to that, he spent four years in institutional sales for Peregrine Securities in Hong Kong before spending four years in Hong Kong with Goldman Sachs Asia.

Porter Schutt serves on various industry and community boards and is a director on the board of InfoVest.

 

Ezekiel R. Maki is a Senior Emerging Market Analyst with global money manager Marvin & Palmer Associates, Inc. Ezekiel – and team – manage a portfolio that collectively totals over 260 million dollars. Mr. Maki’s areas of expertise include fundamental company analysis, security valuation, macroeconomics country assessments and global asset allocation. Zeke Maki began his career in investing when he joined the Marvin & Palmer trading desk in the late 1990s. Prior to entering the financial services industry, Zeke held a number of IT positions.

Ezekiel received his B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Delaware in 1997 and became a CFA charterholder in 2007. Ezekiel is a director on the board of InvoVest.
